Cuenta la leyenda, que la joven y bella Diosa Mayahuel; tenía en su poder una planta mágica
que daría alegría al ser humano: el agave, también conocido como maguey.
Ehecatl-Quetzalcóatl fue delegado por los Dioses la misión de convencer a Mayahuel de
compartir la planta con los humanos. Ella accedió, sin importarle la furia de su abuela, quien
le tenía prohibido salir. Huyeron hacia la tierra y se enamoraron perdidamente, prometiéndose amor eterno.
Su felicidad duro hasta que se dieron cuenta de que las hermanas de Mayahuel los
perseguían, por lo que decidieron tratar de esconderse adoptando la forma del Agave.
Al buscarlos, las hermanas de Mayahuel la reconocieron y cruelmente la destrozaron.
Quetzalcóatl, quien sobrevivió; tomó los restos de su amada y cuidadosamente la sembró,
regándola todos los días con su llanto. Con el tiempo resurgió la planta mágica, quedando
Mayahuel para siempre en el sagrado Agave.
Se dice que la esplendorosa diosa, es además la madre de los 400 conejos; los 400 estados
de embriaguez que pudiera sentir una persona por el consumo excesivo del etílico. Según el
carácter de quien bebe, será la personalidad del conejo que adopte.
Esta gran historia de amor fue la principal inspiración para la creación de CORAZON DE
MAYAHUEL, un homenaje a nuestras raíces a través de un tequila de origen 100% mexicano
que es la fusión perfecta entre lo tradicional y lo artesanal.
According to legend, the young and beautiful goddess Mayahuel had in her power a magical
plant that would give humans joy: agave, also known as maguey.
Ehecatl-Quetzalcóatl was delegated by the gods on the mission of convincing Mayahuel to
share this magical plant with humans. She accepted, without caring about her grandmother’s
fury who had forbidden her from going outside.
They fled towards Earth and fell madly in love, promising each other eternal devotion. Their
happiness lasted until they realized that Mayahuel’s sisters were chasing them, so they
decided to try to hide by transforming into the shape of the Agave.
When searching for them, Mayahuel’s sisters recognized her and cruelly destroyed her.
Quetzalcóatl, who survived, took his beloved’s remains and carefully planted them, watering
them everyday with his tears. Over time, the magical plant grew, leaving Mayahuel forever in
the sacred Agave.
It is said that the splendid goddess is also the mother of the 400 rabbits; the 400 rabbits
responsible for the states of inebriation that a person can feel for the excessive consumption
of alcoholic beverages. Depending on the character of the drinker shall be the personality of
the rabbit it adopts.
